Automated SI phone line setup for carriers and small fleets
We set up a Super Intelligence (SI) voice agent that answers your toll-free number 24/7, gets the caller's details, texts your on-call tech, and puts urgent calls straight through to whoever is on call. If you already use a ticketing or help desk tool, we can connect the line to it through that tool's API.
Over The Road SI (OTRSI) is an IT services company. We set up and connect the phone line; your people and the tools you already use stay in charge. We don't sell a help desk or a ticketing product.
What we set up
- A toll-free number answered 24/7 by an SI voice agent, nights, weekends and holidays included.
- Caller details on every call: the caller's name, a callback number, and what the issue is.
- A ticket in your existing tool (optional): each call becomes a ticket in the ticketing or help desk tool you already use, created through that tool's API.
- A text to your on-call tech with a short summary of the call and a Listen link to the call recording.
- Live transfer of urgent calls to the on-call person from your on-call schedule, so a real emergency reaches a person right away.
Works with the tool you already use
We connect the line to your current tool through its own API, for example Atera, ConnectWise, Freshdesk, Zendesk, or another tool that has an API. You create a limited API key in your tool and can revoke it at any time; we never ask for your passwords. If your tool has no API, or you don't use one, the line still texts your on-call tech about every call.
What you need / what it runs on
A typical setup:
- A phone number: a toll-free or local number on Twilio Programmable Voice. You can also keep the number you have today (see "Already have a phone system?" below).
- The SI voice agent: Twilio connects each call over SIP to a Super Intelligence (SI) voice agent. We use xAI's Grok voice agent.
- Texts: Twilio Messaging sends the call summary and the Listen link to your on-call tech.
- Call recording: each call is recorded so your tech can listen back. Callers hear a recording notice.
- Your ticketing tool (optional): a ticket is created through your tool's API, for example Atera, ConnectWise, Freshdesk or Zendesk.
- An on-call schedule: who is on call and when, so urgent calls go to the right person.
From you we need: who is on call and when, the phone number you want callers to dial, and (optional) a limited API key for your ticketing tool.
Carrier and AI usage costs
The plan price covers our setup and our work. Phone, text and AI usage is passed through at cost, with no markup, and is not included in the plan price. Payment-first applies to usage too: we bill an estimated month of usage in advance and true it up on the next bill. If you'd rather, the Twilio and xAI accounts can be in your name so they bill you directly.
Published prices (checked 2026-10-21):
- Twilio phone numbers: toll-free $2.15/month, local $1.15/month.
- Twilio inbound calls: toll-free $0.022/min, local $0.0085/min. SIP to the voice agent $0.004/min. Outbound calls (live transfers to your on-call person) $0.014/min.
- Twilio call recording: $0.0025/min to record, plus $0.0005/min per month to store.
- Twilio texts: $0.0083 per segment plus a carrier fee of up to $0.005 per segment. A segment is up to 160 characters.
- Texting registration: verifying a toll-free number for texting is free. A local number needs A2P 10DLC registration: $19.50 one time (brand $4.50 plus campaign vetting $15), then $1.50–$10.00 per month for the campaign.
- SI voice agent (xAI Grok speech-to-speech): $0.08 per minute.
Worked example
300 calls a month × 3 minutes = 900 minutes, and one text per call to your on-call tech:
| Item | Math | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| Toll-free number | 1 × $2.15/mo | $2.15 |
| Inbound toll-free minutes | 900 min × $0.022 | $19.80 |
| SIP to the SI voice agent | 900 min × $0.004 | $3.60 |
| Call recording | 900 min × $0.0025 | $2.25 |
| Recording storage (first month) | 900 min × $0.0005 | $0.45 |
| SI voice agent (xAI speech-to-speech) | 900 min × $0.08 | $72.00 |
| Texts to on-call (2 segments each) | 600 segments × ($0.0083 + up to $0.005 carrier fee) | $7.98 |
| Estimated total | $108.23 |
| Item | Math | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| Local number | 1 × $1.15/mo | $1.15 |
| Inbound local minutes | 900 min × $0.0085 | $7.65 |
| SIP to the SI voice agent | 900 min × $0.004 | $3.60 |
| Call recording | 900 min × $0.0025 | $2.25 |
| Recording storage (first month) | 900 min × $0.0005 | $0.45 |
| SI voice agent (xAI speech-to-speech) | 900 min × $0.08 | $72.00 |
| Texts to on-call (2 segments each) | 600 segments × ($0.0083 + up to $0.005 carrier fee) | $7.98 |
| 10DLC texting campaign (low-volume) | 1 × $1.50/mo | $1.50 |
| Estimated total | $96.58 |
So that example comes to about $108.23/month on a toll-free number or $96.58/month on a local number, plus $19.50 one time for 10DLC on a local number. Live transfers add the outbound minutes ($0.014/min). Storage grows with the recordings you keep. Your real bill depends on your call volume and call length, and Twilio and xAI can change their prices.
Already have a phone system?
- SIP and VoIP providers: if your current provider can forward calls or connect a SIP trunk, you can keep it and send calls to the SI line. RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage and Telnyx can do this. RingCentral, 8x8 and Telnyx are US companies; Vonage is US-based and owned by Ericsson of Sweden. We don't recommend or use Chinese-owned vendors.
- Google Voice: Google doesn't offer a public API for Google Voice calls, so the SI agent can't plug into Google Voice directly. You can keep your Google Voice number: on Google Workspace Voice Standard or Premier, an auto attendant can transfer callers to another phone number, so it can send calls to the SI line. On other Google Voice plans, call-forwarding options are more limited, so we'll check your plan with you first.
